This journey across the Ore Mountains is part of the sixth seminar of our Itinerant University of Nature "Becoming Native or Searching for Home" (Nov\u00e9 Hamry 2.-8.6. 2021). I was inspired to create its route by the proposal of the first ever transitional hiking trail through the Ore Mountains ("Kru\u0161nohorsk\u00fd kw\u00e9runk"), created by the wanderer Mark\u00e9ta Dobe\u0161ov\u00e1. The path offers an opportunity to get acquainted with the unique nature of the Ore Mountains, but also with the eventful history of the Czech border region, which reflects our dramatic history. Our journey goes beyond the borders of the Ore Mountains and leads through the Tisk\u00e9 st\u011bny and D\u011b\u010d\u00ednsk\u00fd Sn\u011b\u017en\u00edk to D\u011b\u010d\u00edn. You can join us anywhere and go with us for as long as you want. Everyone is responsible for themselves. We sleep outside under the open sky. First day on Sunday, August 8th (17 km)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Nov\u00e9 Hamry \/ Horn\u00ed Blatn\u00e1 \/ Mauritius \/ Slatyny: <\/strong><\/strong>We will set off on our hike from Nov\u00e9 Hamry from Hotel Seifert at 12 noon. We will follow the yellow and then the green tourist trail under Fox Mountain<\/em> up to Horni Blatne<\/em>. From here we go Along the Anton G\u00fcnther Trail <\/em>\u2013the famous German Ore Mountains singer-songwriter, poet and lover of the Ore Mountains \u2013 on Wolf Pits<\/em> and Ice pits<\/em>, which are significant remains of tin mining in the Ore Mountains, and further on Blatensky Hill <\/em>(1043 m) with a lookout tower. We will continue along the G\u00fcnther trail and visit The red pit<\/em>, the largest ever depression after mining activities in our country, Stallion <\/em>and mine Mauritius<\/em>s, registered on the list of national cultural monuments, and we will reach Slatin\u00e9, To the dead pond<\/em>, which was built in the 16th century for mining purposes. We will spend the night here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second day, Monday, August 9 (26 km)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Dead Pond \/ Bo\u017e\u00ed Dar \/ Kl\u00ednovec \/ Horn\u00ed Hal\u017ee: <\/strong><\/strong>From Dead pond with<\/em>In the morning we will set off along G\u00fcntherova Street Bo\u017eidar peat bogs<\/em>, one of the most valuable natural sites of the Ore Mountains, to To the Bo\u017e\u00eddarsk\u00fd canine <\/em>(1115 m), the second highest mountain in the Ore Mountains and the highest basalt pile in the Czech Republic, and we will reach God's gift. <\/em>Bo\u017e\u00ed dar was originally a mining settlement and is the highest town in our country. The aforementioned singer-songwriter Anton G\u00fcnther (1876-1937) was born here - we will visit his monument and his birthplace. From Bo\u017e\u00ed dar we will ascend to Klinovec<\/em> (1244 m), the highest mountain in the Ore Mountains, and from there we will follow the red trail across Meadow <\/em>at the crossroads below Melusine <\/em>(1097 m) and then below The Mountain of Crosses <\/em>(1025 m) to the M\u011bd\u011bneck\u00e1 road; along it we reach Upper Halze<\/em>where we spend the night near the forest.<\/p>\n\n\n

Third day on Tuesday, August 10 (24 km)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Horn\u00ed Hal\u017ee \/ M\u011bdn\u00edk \/ P\u0159\u00edse\u010dnice \/ Jelen\u00ed Hora, St. Sebastian's Mountain:<\/strong> <\/strong>FROM Upper Halze<\/em> we are going to Vermilion <\/em>(once important for copper mining, but also iron and silver) and to a beautiful hill Coppersmith<\/em> (900 m) with chapel The Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary.<\/em> We will visit here the promised land tunnel,<\/em> significant mining work. We will continue along the red trail to the largest dam in the Ore Mountains Intersections<\/em>, which was created on the site of a former mining village; from there, at the crossroads with V\u00fdslu\u0148sk\u00e1 cesta and following the yellow path to the summit Deer Mountains<\/em> (994 m), from where there is one of the most beautiful views of the Ore Mountains; the basalt massif of the mountain is covered with beech forests. From here we will head to the nature reserve Source of Chomutovka<\/em> and after Elm Road <\/em>over Glass Hill<\/em> (878 m) to Mount Saint Sebastian<\/em>We spend the night on its edge or in a cave near Chomutovka in the Bezru\u010d Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day Four Wednesday, August 11 (26 km)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

St. Sebastian's Mountain \/ Bear Waterfalls \/ Novodomsk\u00e9 Peatland \/ Kalek \/ St. Catherine's Mountain: <\/strong><\/strong>In the morning we will go to Bezru\u010d's Valley<\/em> and along the Chomutovka river to Bear Falls;<\/em>Bezru\u010d Valley is one of the longest and most beautiful valleys in the Ore Mountains. From Medv\u011bd\u00ed waterfalls we will go to Hadinec<\/em> (815 m) and along the red marked path along Novodomsk\u00e9 peat bogs<\/em>, the largest bogs of the Ore Mountains, to To the new one <\/em>and To the old pond<\/em>; from the Old Pond we follow the yellow path to the village Calc <\/em>(with the beautiful church of St. Wenceslas),<\/em> where iron ore was previously processed. From Kalk then on Vol\u00e1rensk\u00e1 road<\/em> to Tel\u010d Valley<\/em> and from there along the Gabrielka nature trail<\/em> over Rudolicy Pond <\/em>and the settlement Small grove<\/em> up to Saint Catherine's Mountains.<\/em> Here we ascend to Pink Hill <\/em>(729 m) with the Hl\u00e1ska lookout tower, under which we spend the night.<\/p>\n\n\n

Day Five Thursday, August 12 (23 km)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

St. Catherine's Mountain \/ Mn\u00ed\u0161ek \/ Brad\u00e1\u010dov \u2013 Lichtenwald Chateau \/ \u010cesk\u00fd Ji\u0159et\u00edn: <\/strong><\/strong>From Mount St. Catherine we will set off along the Fl\u00e1jsk\u00e1 hornatina nature trail. New Village<\/em> and Nun<\/em>, where the border crossing to Germany is. From there we will continue along the same nature trail to Lou\u010densk\u00e1 hornatina nature park <\/em>to Black Pond Nature Reserve <\/em>and further over the hills Colorful <\/em>(875 m) and Deer head<\/em> (874 m).<\/em> For By the trout stream<\/em> then we turn right onto the path that leads vertically up to the top Bradacov <\/em>(876 m), where there is an interesting hunting ground Lichtenwald Castle<\/em> from the 18th century, which included a hunting reserve. On the wooded slopes of the hill we can observe the stages of forest regeneration after the ecological disaster. From Brad\u00e1\u010dov we descend to \u010cesk\u00fd Ji\u0159et\u00edn,<\/em> founded in the 16th century by woodcutters who made their living by floating wood on the Fl\u00e1je Canal. We will visit the wooden church of St. John the Baptist, the only all-wooden church in our country, which originally stood in the village of Fl\u00e1je, now flooded by the Fl\u00e1je Reservoir (the only pillar dam in the Czech Republic). We will spend the night in the forest by the Fl\u00e1je Canal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day Six Friday, August 13 (26 km)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u010cesk\u00fd Ji\u0159et\u00edn \/ Moldava \/ C\u00ednovec \/ Kom\u00e1\u0159\u00ed V\u00ed\u017eka: <\/strong><\/strong>From \u010cesk\u00fd Ji\u0159et\u00edn we will take the red route through Upper village<\/em>where we turn onto the yellow one and continue past the retention tank Three spruces<\/em> until the crossroads Beggar's Corner; <\/em>The place is a memorial to a defunct village, founded in the 16th century for the purpose of paying wages to raftsmen transporting wood along the Flaj Canal. From here we will continue to the site of a defunct shepherd's village Pastures<\/em> and on to Moldovans <\/em>with the beautiful Baroque Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. In the past, silver was mined in Moldava and there are remains of medieval glassworks here. This landscape has an amazing charm. We continue along the yellow path to the upper part of the village and from there, at the crossroads under By the glass stream<\/em>where we turn red and go around C\u00ednoveck\u00fd peat bog<\/em> up to Tinplate;<\/em> Tin, silver and tungsten have been mined here since the Middle Ages. From C\u00ednovec we will continue along the border educational mining trail, which will take us to The Transylvanian Way and<\/em> on The Sedmihorsk\u00e1 viewpoint <\/em>and we will end our journey at Mosquito bites <\/em>(808 m) with a lookout tower Mosquito net<\/em>, which is the oldest lookout tower in the Ore Mountains. <\/em>Kom\u00e1\u0159\u00ed h\u016frka is interesting for its steep elevation above the surrounding terrain, which is why there is a unique view of the Teplice region, the \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem region and the Bohemian Central Mountains, which was admired by the famous German traveler Alexander von Humboldt and the famous German poet Johann Wolfgang Goethe. We spend the night under Kom\u00e1\u0159\u00ed h\u016frka. <\/p>\n\n\n

Day Seven Saturday, August 14 (25 km)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Mosquito Tower \/ Nakl\u00e9\u0159ovsk\u00e1 Height \/ Libouchec \/ Tisk\u00e9 Walls \/ Island:<\/strong><\/strong> From Kom\u00e1\u0159\u00ed V\u00ed\u017eky we follow the red trail to Habartic<\/em>where it begins Eastern Ore Mountains Nature Park<\/em>From here we will go through the nature reserve Black meadow <\/em>with the remains of wet to peaty mountain meadows, which form a rare ecosystem, and further below Ore Hill<\/em> (796 m) up to Adolf's.<\/em> From here we take the yellow path to the crossroads below Deer Hill<\/em> and on the cycle path that will lead us to Naklerov<\/em> to Nakl\u00e9\u0159ovsk\u00e9 Pass;<\/em> This significant depression is an important place, because this is where the Ore Mountains end. In history, an important country trail ran here. From Nakl\u00e9\u0159ov we will continue along the blue trail across the D8 highway to Upper Libouchec<\/em>, where after about 2.5km we turn left on an unmarked path and walk along the edge of the forest and the hill In the Pastures<\/em>, where the military training area is located, up to New Libouchec;<\/em> here we enter the Labsk\u00e9 p\u00edskovce Protected Landscape Area and reach the Quietly<\/em>. We will go through The Great Tisza Walls<\/em> and we will end the journey in Island<\/em> at Ostrovsky Pond<\/em>, surrounded by rocks, where we spend the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 8 on Sunday, August 15 (17 km)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Ostrovsky Pond \/ D\u011b\u010d\u00ednsky Sn\u011b\u017en\u00edk \/ D\u011b\u010d\u00edn:<\/strong><\/strong> From Ostrovsk\u00fd Pond in the morning we will set off along the red educational trail of the Forgotten Borderlands to Snowman <\/em>and from there to the top D\u011b\u010d\u00ednsky Sn\u011b\u017en\u00edk<\/em> (723 m), the highest mountain of the Elbe Sandstones. We will walk through the entire plateau of this amazing table mountain and look at the old stone lookout tower and Dresden viewpoint<\/em>From D\u011b\u010d\u00ednsk\u00fd Sn\u011b\u017en\u00edk we descend along the red trail through New village<\/em>, Dolni Oldrichov<\/em> and Shepherd's wall <\/em>up to Decina<\/em>from where we will return to Prague by train.<\/p>\n\n\n
