We would like to invite you to the fourth seminar of the Traveling University of Nature, which this time is dedicated to the cosmology of the epic of evolution. The seminar, entitled Living the Cosmic Life \/ Cosmology as a Path of Transformation, will take place from July 29 to August 3, 2019 at the Dark Sky Center in the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains at the \u0160varn\u00e1 Hanka Chalet. Its main lecturer will be the American astronomer, therapist and writer Stephan Martin<\/a>, author of the book Cosmic conversations<\/em><\/a> (Malvern 2016).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this seminar, we will explore the practical implications of one of the greatest scientific discoveries of the 20th century, which revealed to us that we are part of a vast, evolving cosmos; that each of us is an integral part of the evolutionary story that began 14 billion years ago with the birth of the universe. Science, which is now beginning to explore the immense complexity and intelligence of the universe, has discovered, among other things, that we are not separate from the universe, but that we live in an omnicentric cosmos \u2013 that is, that each of us is the center of the universe, a place where its entire evolutionary process is being experienced in a new way. This understanding can help us open up to a deeper understanding of the purpose of our lives, which comes from the realization that we are part of something much larger than ourselves; and it can also help us effectively navigate the far-reaching changes we face on Earth today. Understanding the universe as a creative process and as a constant change allows us to understand why crises and transformations are such an important part of our lives. If we want to grow and evolve, says Stephan Martin, we must follow the example of the universe and be able to change. By seeing ourselves as part of a cosmic process, we can open ourselves to sources of inspiration, support, and meaning that we would otherwise not have the chance to access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the seminar, we will try to answer the following questions: What is the cosmic nature of the human being? What can be the role of man in the evolution of the cosmos? What should be our relationship to other earthly beings and to the living, breathing Earth that we inhabit? How can we develop an immediate psychophysical experience of the universe and its phenomena? Is there a vision of the universe today that can encompass science and spirituality?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will not only learn about the evolutionary omnicentric universe, but inspired by cosmologist Brian Swim, we will also try to imaginatively integrate some of this knowledge into our perception. We will try to contemplate the grandeur of time, space, and the wonders of the immense evolutionary creativity of the cosmos from which we were born; to experience that we live on a huge rotating planet and within the magnetic field of a swirling solar system; that we are part of the fluid dynamics of the Milky Way galaxy, and to open aesthetically and emotionally to that bottomless mysterious abyss of beauty that we call the universe. We will become familiar with the broader context of contemporary cosmology of the epic of evolution and we will also include art and poetry in our contemplation: we will recall the work of the \u201cpainter of the cosmos\u201d Franti\u0161ek Kupka and the cosmological paintings of Karel Malich and Jan Pra\u017ean (George Zemanek<\/a>). During the seminar we will also learn about the research and educational work of the astronomical Dark sky centers on Gruni<\/a>, which was founded here four years ago by astronomer Tom\u00e1\u0161 Hynek, and through their telescopes we will observe stars and galaxies every night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion of the seminar, we are preparing a total of three publications: a book Brian Swimm<\/a> The hidden heart of the cosmos<\/em>, published in collaboration with Malvern Publishing; a publication by Stephan Martin Living a cosmic life<\/em> and the key text of the cosmology of the evolutionary epic from Thomas Berry<\/a> A new story \u2013 notes on the origin, identification and transmission of values<\/em>The last two titles will be published as part of our association's publishing activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mountain settlement of Gru\u0148, where our seminar will take place, is one of the most beautiful places in the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains; this well-known recreational area is located between the hills Janiculum<\/em> (832 m above sea level) and Goat<\/em> (886 m above sea level). There is a beautiful view of Bald Mountain<\/em> (1323 m above sea level), the highest peak of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains, and towards the east to the panorama of the Slovak part of the Carpathian ridge \u2013 the Mal\u00e1 Fatra and Velk\u00e1 Fatra mountains and the Low Tatras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every afternoon we will take trips to the surrounding nature. We will visit Bald Mountain<\/em> and virgin forests Lubricant<\/em> and Lubricating Grunik<\/em>, mountain Grassy<\/em> (1203 m above sea level) and a nature reserve Grass stream<\/em>, mountain Spruce<\/em> (1276 m above sea level) and a water reservoir Chance<\/em> and last but not least, the settlement Old Hamry<\/em> (connected with the story of Mary\u010dka Magdonov\u00e1, the heroine Silesian songs<\/em> poet Petr Bezru\u010d) and the mountain settlement and experimental ecological workplace Bil\u00fd K\u0159\u00ed\u017e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hut At \u0160varn\u00e1 Hanka's<\/a>, where we will stay, is the oldest mountain hut in the Beskydy Mountains. We will be accommodated in two to six-bed rooms. We will eat directly in the hut: vegetarian, possibly lacto-vegetarian food. The total payment for the seminar is 7,280 CZK.<\/strong>, of which 3180,-CZK for accommodation and meals, and 4 100,-CZK for the seminar.
